Sejarah Lagu "GLOOMY SUNDAY"

Lagu "GLOOMY SUNDAY" Diciptakan oleh musisi Hungaria pada awal 1930-an Rezső Seress, aslinya lagu ini berbahasa Hungaria dan berjudul Vége a világnak atau yang berarti 'dunia sedang berakhir'. Lagu tersebut berkisah tentang kesedihan dan kehancuran akibat perang.
Tak lama, seorang penulis puisi bernama László Jávor menulis lirik versinya sendiri untuk lagu tersebut yang Berjudul Szomorú vasárnap atau yang berarti 'Sabtu sedih', dalam perkembangannya lirik milik Jávor menjadi lebih populer. Namun dalam versinya, lagu ini menceritakan tentang keinginan bunuh diri seseorang setelah kepergian kekasihnya.
